Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium

David Sprouls,

Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium (Main Hall). The classically restrained, acoustically perfect, white, gold and red space has been NYC’s premier music venue for over 120 years. All the greats – Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Stravinsky, Benny Goodman, the Beatles, the New York Philharmonic, Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Ike & Tina Turner, James Taylor, Luciano Pavarotti, the Kronos Quartet, Renée Fleming and many, more – have performed there. As the spirit of music lives in that space and in those walls, it’s an architectural and cultural landmark.
